2022 Tentative Schedule

We share here a schedule of events and activities for the Smith-Bryant Family Reunion. Registration fee includes meals and transportation Friday evening through noon Sunday. 

 

Swimming, Arts, Crafts, Storytelling, Genealogy and a variety of activities available for all ages. Feel free to reach out by phone or email with any questions!

Friday, Aug. 26 - 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM

Meet and Greet

 

Check-in and join family members in the ballroom for a light meal between 6:30 PM-8:30 PM, conversation, and live music.  Pajama Party at 9:00 PM.  Lots of great activities - swimming, arts and crafts, storytelling, board games and more for all ages

Saturday, Aug. 27 - Historic StauntonTours at 10:00 AM and 2:30 PM

Tour of Historic Sites

Join family for a Buffet Breakfast from 7:30 AM to 9:30 AM and then take a historic tour of the city from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM.  A second tour will run from 2:30 PM-4:00 PM. 

 

The tours will include visits to the six historical markers unveiled this year by the Staunton-Augusta County African American Research Society to showcase local African American history, to some Smith and Bryant home places, and  other points of interest.

Sat., Aug. 27 - Lunch Buffet from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM

Showing of  "Threads of History:  A Conversation with A Community"
recollections of Booker T. Washington High School alum, their teachers, and other residents about life during segregation in Staunton, Virginia

and a Family Genealogy Presentation

Sat., Aug. 27 - Social Hour at 6:00 PM  and Banquet from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM

Saturday evening will begin with a Social & Cocktail hour from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM followed by a lovely Banquet Dinner  and recognition of elders , and family photo

from 7:00 AM to 10:00PM.

Buffet breakfast served from 7:30 AM to 9:30 AM with a Church Service from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM. As a family of faith, we would be remiss if we did not conclude our gathering to give thanks and praise to God for the many blessings we have received and to pray for a safe journey home.

All families are welcome to attend this family dedication meeting to discuss among a few things the continued use of the reunion fund to plan future family gatherings.

Family Fun at Montgomery Hall Park

Hosted by cousin Ruby Bryant Smith.  After church services, families may want to head over to Montgomery Hall Park for more Sunday afternoon fun.  Hot dogs and chips provided.  Games, swimming (starting at 2 pm) and more.

*So pleased and blessed to have cousins Rev. Dr. Amos C. Brown, Ms. Jane Smith Brown and family attend the Smith Bryant Family Reunion.  We invite you to learn about God's work that Rev. Dr. Brown continues to do every day in this country and abroad.  Dr. Brown has been Pastor of San Francisco's Third Baptist Church since 1976 and a member of the National Board of

Directors of the NAACP.
